The Fountains Care Centre's very own Shelly Hollorn will once again be taking to the streets of Manchester when she runs the Manchester 10k in aid of Music in Hospitals. The Manchester 10k, which takes place in May, is now one of the UK's largest and best supported running events, which also helps to raise millions of pounds for charity.

After running last years' event in aid of Alzheimer's Research, this year Shelly will be running to raise money for Music in Hospitals, a much smaller charity who perform concerts for older people, those with life limiting conditions, and those with mental health needs amongst many others.  Music in Hospitals regularly perform concerts at The Fountains Care Centre, hence why Shelly wanted to support them.'I have seen Music in Hospitals coming into The Fountains Care Centre month after month entertaining and interacting with our residents, so when I obtained my place in the Manchester 10k, it felt like the perfect charity to support' said Shelly, who manages customer services at The Fountains. 'They are a relatively small charity, but that seems like all the more reason to help support them'.The Manchester 10k will take place on Sunday 22nd May across the city centre, so why not go out and support if you are in the area?
